I think that a society needs law in order to function. Its like the book the lord of the flies, if there is no laws everything falls apart, theres no rules so everything is free game and thers no order. Everything turns into complete caos. Laws set down rules and help control things.

i think that society needs laws so that we have a safe enviroment to live in and so that no one can get away with anything stupid. and all the written ones do us all good. without any laws there would be a lot of fighting and violence and no one wants that! :)

Without laws the society in question is going to fall into chaos. Everyone will be fighting for power in a chaotic place, or just doing what they will, which almost never goes well.

Law is important because it acts as a guideline as to what is accepted in society. without it there would be conflicts between social groups, society, construction, etc. Laws are everywhere and it is pivotal that we follow them. As time changes so will a law, and they are constantly being amended when needed. People may not agree with a certain law but that is just the way society works.

The advantages of written law are to have all rules in concrete form. Instead of having to ask someone, with the chance of the answer being uncertain, you can just look it up for reference. It makes law more official.

It is necessary for society to have laws to ensure that we as civilians live in a safe and healthy environment. They are there to compromise with people to keep the peace, and to avoid any disagreements or disputes that may occur - Laws are written and we are entitled to follow them to avoid chaos.

Law is essential for the continue of a safe environment. Without a guideline of an accepted society, there would be conflict all the time between a variety of groups of people, construction, etc. Written laws demonstrate they are official, with no way around them. One may not agree with the law, but it has to be followed or else there are severe consequences.

Laws are vital guidelines that show the accepted behaviours for people in society. Without laws, there would be constant conflict between different groups of people, individual people, etc...

Society by definition does not require people to cooperate, to behave themselves, or even to refrain from killing each other. Laws are artificial representations of the idealistic standards lawmakers wish to hold people to. But they are not needed for a society to remain a society (a prime example would be Somalian society). The utility of a written code of laws for a society using laws would be that the written representation of the laws would be unchanging and uncompromising. The written material itself cannot be biased, cannot have its own agenda, and it cannot be changed (these things come from the lawmakers).

Laws are needed in society so that society will be able to function as a whole. Without laws, everyone would be doing things the way that they want to. This could cause chaos. With laws, that are written down, people know what they can and cannot do thus providing order and a calmness in the society.

Laws are need to keep everything in order and give people an idea of whats wrong and right. Laws are more of a guideline to help us live without any chaos.

yes i think that society needs a law, just to get around, cause without a law, there would be more people drinking and driving, selling drugs to others (i mean there is a law for that) but if there wasn't then it would be ten times worse then it already is. So like its stated a couple times, laws are needed to stay clear of all the chaos!

I think laws are needed because with out laws people could get away with things like murder or stealing or something, without laws there could be a lot of chaos.

I think that laws are needed to make a society work, because they give us rules to live by and without them there would be no constructive way to live. without them people would be careless and they would not have to deal with the repercussions of their decisions. mindless murder, careless killing and whatnot. and the good thing about written laws are that they know what they are doing and in some cases (double jeopardy)

There needs to be laws in society, everything would fall apart. Society would be destroyed in result of peoples careless actions because there are no consequences. The advantages of a written code of laws it that they keep society in order and there are punishments for your wrong doings.

I Think that society need laws to work at all. If you didnt have any laws there wouldnt be any order or anything to say whether what your doing is right or wrong. The advantages of written code of law is that you can actually see the law and never lose the idea and whatnot.

The reason a society needs laws is Without law there would be a constant struggle for power in a society. The other reason laws are important is that too many people would not know what to do in a situation where law would need to be enforced. But a society does not just need laws to flourish it needs a good set of written laws that are fair and just for the whole society and should be agreed upon by the majority of the society.

Society needs law because ultimately, they control how people behave and what decisions they choose to make. Without law, there would be no penalties for reckless behaviour, and people would have an easier time getting away with bad things. Having a written code of laws is a good thing because it is beneficial for the majority of a society. The ability to physically see and look back on laws prevents confusion and inaccurate assumptions of the law.

I think laws are needed in a society because if there weren't, then civilization would just fall apart. Everybody would be fighting for land just like thousands of years ago. Laws keep our society undercontrol and if someone does break the law then they get punished for what ever they did. Some advantages of a written code of laws is anybody can read them so they then have the opportunity to know how to conduct in society.

I believe we needs laws because it helps keep order in society. Laws are only guidelines that should be followed but it does not stop you from going against them, it just provides a way in which you can be punished fairly. This is where the written laws come in handy because it is helpful in that its a foundation of which you can fall back that is easier to convict then just saying "you cant do that cause its bad." Written laws help keep order in society and try to keep the people safe.

In order for people to live peacefully, law is necessary. They are created to create clear understandings about behaviour that is expected of a society's citizens. Laws also provide the guidelines for settling disputes or disagreements through discussion, rather than violence. For example, deciding which car gets to drive through an intersection first is not determined by speed. It is governed by the law that vehicles must yield to a red light and go when the light is green. Laws were created to reduce or eliminate conflicts, to deal with illegal actions and establish certain penalties, and to protect the people in a society.
